Will BTS become a Grammy candidate... November announcement

According to the U.S. Record Academy of Arts and Sciences (NARAS), which organizes the Grammy Awards on the 21st (local time), the 63rd Grammy Awards will be announced on November 24 (Korean time 25).

It is known that BTS applied for 7 nominations for this awards ceremony through their management company Big Hit Entertainment.

They applied for a nomination for 'Album of the Year' and 'Best Pop Vocal Album' with his 4th regular album 'Map of the Sol: 7' released in February. 'Map of the Sol: 7' enjoyed world popularity by reaching the top of Billboard's main album chart 'Billboard 200'.

 BTS has been writing a new history of K-pop, following the stadium world tour including Wembley in London, UK, 'Billboard 200', and recently 'Dynamite' to the Billboard main single chart 'Hot 100'.

Ahead of the '62th Grammy Awards' in January last year, controversy followed when the organizers of the Academy of Records and Arts announced the nominations.

Critics pointed out that BTS, which is making history in the U.S. pop world, is still unable to erase its conservative color as it has not been nominated for any of the 84 categories of the Grammy Awards.

Forbes, an American economic expert, criticized the selection of the Grammy Awards nominations for this awards ceremony with the title of 'BTS' 2020 Grammy Misfire Reveals the Blind Spots of the Records Arts and Science Academy'.

However, expectations are growing for the nomination of BTS, which has even confirmed its popularity in the U.S. as the No. 1 "Hot 100" this year. Variety recently reported that "the situation could change with the release of 'Dynamite' by BTS, which has never been nominated before."
