NCT 127 has been nominated for the Favorite Social Artist category and will compete with global pop stars such as Billy Eilish and Ariana Grande. This is the first time NCT 127 has been nominated for the American Music Awards. For the past three years, the 'Favorite Social Artist' winner has been BTS.
The American Music Awards, which began in 1974, is called one of the top three music awards ceremonies in the United States, along with the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards. The candidates will be selected by Billboard, its partners Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound by comprehensively evaluating sales of albums and digital music, social activities and tours. Winners are determined by fan votes on the American Music Awards website.
The 2020 American Music Awards will be held at 8 p.m. on November 22 (Eastern U.S. time).
