BTS, the first Asian singer to be nominated for the Grammy Awards(+Reaction by members)

The American Recording Academy, which organizes the Grammy Awards, announced BTS's "Dynamite" early this morning in Korean time as a candidate for the 63rd Grammy Awards' Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Founded in 2012, the category is awarded to musicians who have achieved outstanding artistic achievements in pop vocal or performance in the form of duo, group, or collaboration.

Although it is not one of the four main awards, it is a genre category, but it has never been nominated by an Asian singer as it is considered one of the most important parts of the Grammy.

The nominated song is a disco pop genre single album released on August 21, and has already set a historic record, topping the U.S. Billboard's main singles chart "Hot 100" for the first time in Korean pop music history.

The third consecutive year of the American Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, will be the Grand Slam if it wins the Grammy.

The Grammy Awards has been held annually since 1959 by the Recording Academy, a group of music experts, including singers, producers and critics, and is considered one of the top American music awards.

Unlike the popular American Music Awards and the Billboard Music Awards, which are based on chart performance, Grammy Awards focus on musicality and are evaluated just by selecting candidates and winners.

The winners will be decided by final voting by Academy members, and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on January 31 next year.
