BTS Military Service Act passed... Korean Singers Association cheers

The Korea Singer Association was pleased to hear that the National Assembly passed the "BTS Military Service Act," which could delay military service for pop culture artists.

"It has been a year since we held a public hearing on the issue of special military service in December last year," said the president of the Korea Singers Association. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who helped me pass the emergency hearing at this time of last year on the news that I passed the threshold of the National Assembly's plenary session under the 'BTS Military Service Act.'

"The K-pop singer, who is the main character of the Korean Wave, is now a global brand and is moved and tearful by cheering K-pop around the world. The tears are our future and hope."

"In the future, the K-pop singers' special military service system for the continued growth of K-pop, the prevention of malicious comments and legislation to protect pop culture artists, and the establishment of a mental health support center for Kpop culture. Artists will gather all of their capabilities in projects for Korean singers," he said.

Earlier, the National Assembly held a plenary session on the 1st and processed the revision of the Military Service Act, which allows pop culture artists to postpone their military service, with 268 registered, 253 approved, two opposed, and 13 abstentions.

The revision of the Military Service Act has also made it possible for pop culture artists to delay their military service until the age of 30.
