BTS drama 'YOUTH', stop filming → scheduled to resume next year

Filming of the drama "YOUTH," which features BTS's worldview of "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life" is scheduled to resume early next year.

Filming of "Youth" was suspended in late October. Big Hit Entertainment said, "The filming was suspended in the process of adjusting to reflect the real names of BTS members in the story," adding, "We will resume filming after consultation."

However, filming failed to resume last month, and was postponed earlier this month when the shooting was scheduled to begin again. In the end, the company has decided to resume filming in January next year after the end of this year.

"Youth" deals with the growing up of seven precarious and immature boys. It will portray the process of boys full of wounds with their own secrets growing into precious beings, empathizing with each other's pain.

In particular, the drama drew keen attention from the production stage in that it is a drama about BTS's worldview of "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life." BU (BTS Universe) is a worldview that has a different narrative from a real artist, and has unfolded various stories in a way of metaphor and symbolism.

However, the release of the drama lineup and character settings has raised fans' concerns. They pointed out that the characters in the play using the members' real names can confuse the public because they have experienced dark home environments, great wounds and traumas in their unhappy childhood.

 

"The real name represents the lives of each member as a human being before being a member of the BTS group," said the fan club ARMY in a statement last October. However, the agency uses their real names as fictional drama characters to influence their lives as natural people and to pursue profits through them, the agency claimed.
