"The BTS is not the 'second Beatles' but the 'first BTS'"

The group BTS has been named "Band of the Year" by a leading U.S. music media, Consequence of Sound.

Consequence of Sound announced on its official website on the 8th (local time) that it has selected BTS as the band of the year (2020 Band of the Year). The media releases artists and bands of the year every year.

"It brought a message of happiness and hope in a year full of uncertainty and sense of loss," explained Consequence of Sound.

 

It then shed light on the success of becoming the first Korean singer to reach the top of Billboard's main single chart "Hot 100" for the first time in Billboard's history with "Dynamite" and "Life Goes On," and the first K-pop singer to be nominated for a Grammy Award for the first time in Billboard's history.

"It's almost a miracle that They've achieved all these records in 2020," he said. "They've put five albums at the top of the charts in the United States faster than any other group. "It is not the 'second Beatles' but the 'first BTS'."

The media outlet said, 'Band of the Year' has been selected based on sincerity, recognition, perseverance, and dedication to music. BTS has more than met all of these criteria.

Consequence of Sound also posted an interview video of BTS along with an article on the selection of "Band of the Year." In an interview, BTS talked about how he felt about being named the Band of the Year, how he worked on his new album, how he worked on his online concert, and so on.
