BTS, TIME magazine "2020 Entertainer of the Year"

BTS were selected as'Entertainer of the Year' by TIME, an American magazine.

Time released a list of the most influential figures in each field on its official website on the 10th (local time) and selected BTS as the 'Entertainer of the Year'.

"It's not just the biggest K-pop group on the music charts, it's the biggest band in the world," Time said. No more words are needed. In 2020, they broke all kinds of records with multiple albums, and with their relentless live streaming, they reached the peak of their pop star ranks.

Time went on to say, "The bond between BTS and their global fans, ARMY, has deepened in a pandemics where the world has stopped," adding, "In an era full of pain and cynicism, BTS was faithful to the message of kindness, connection and self-acceptance.

 

This is the foundation of the relationship between BTS and the fans. BTS has created a true community, and its fandom spreads its positive message to the world."

 

Time also released an interview video with 'Entertainer of the Year' BTS. BTS said, "This year, our fans and members gave us hope and happiness. "We all made songs, danced, and practiced together, and our daily lives were happiness and hope," he said.

 

"The reason for our existence is because many people listen to our music. We came up from the bottom, and I feel like I've grown up with my fans. They seem to know each other's deep hearts. If Korean culture can continue to develop and move forward, we will do our best in the areas we can do.

BTS was named the "2019 Most Influential People in the World" by Time last year, but this is the first time it has been listed in the entertainment section of the "Person of the Year" selected by sector.

 

Last year, American singer Lizzo, who won the Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Travel R&B Performance at the "2020 Grammy Awards," was selected as the "Person of the Year."
