BLACKPINK Rose and Lisa will expand their musical stride by becoming soloists for the first time since their debut.
YG Entertainment, the agency, said on the 30th, "We are proceeding with the release of Rose and Lisa's solo songs," adding, "We are currently preparing to shoot a music video.
YG explained, "Jisoo has a filming schedule for the drama so Rose and Lisa plan to release their solo songs first." Specific information such as dates and song names will be released later.
It is the first time for the two to go solo since their debut as Black Pink in 2016. Jennie made her solo debut as the first runner in the group to release "SOLO" in 2018.
Earlier in June, YG announced that the rest of the members, Rose, Lisa and Jisoo, will release their solo songs sequentially after BLACKPINK's first full-length album is released.
BLACKPINK rose to the global stardom this year by ranking top K-pop girl groups on the U.S. Billboard chart and the U.K. official chart with songs such as "How You Like That," "Ice Cream" and "Lovesick Girls."
As the attention on BLACKPINK has increased, attention is also being paid to Rose and Lisa's solo debuts.
