The new song "Encore," which was released as a surprise by the members of the group GOT7, who left JYP Entertainment, swept the top iTunes song charts in 42 regions around the world.
According to the distributor Warner Music Korea on the 21st, "Encore" topped the iTunes song chart in 42 regions around the world, including the U.S., Spain, Brazil, Chile, France, Mexico, and Singapore.
It is the first K-pop group to top the U.S. iTunes song chart this year.
"Encore" also topped iTunes' "World Wide Song" chart on its first day.
The song is GOT7's 'fan song' with a message that they want to continue singing for their fans.
GOT7, which has enjoyed high popularity at home and abroad, was scattered to different agencies earlier this year as all members did not renew their contracts with JYP, an agency.
Despite this situation, the release of the song as "complete GOT7" for fans is also interpreted as a willingness to continue the bond as a team.
