"Climate change is the most important issue for our generation. It's very welcome to speak out on such an important issue at this point."

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson sent a letter of gratitude to the members of the global K-pop group BlackPink, who are actively responding to climate change.

On the 25th, BlackPink received a letter from Prime Minister Johnson at a ceremony to appoint a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. General Assembly on Climate Change (COP26) at the residence of the British Embassy in Jung-gu, Seoul. The United Kingdom is hosting the COP26, which will be held in November.

Previously, BLACKPINK also delivered a climate change message through a video posted on BLACKPINK's official YouTube channel in December last year. BlackPink also emphasized the importance of COP26 in the UK.

All videos made with Korean and English subtitles received more than 2 million views. "Your 'Climate Action In Your Area #COP26' video has been viewed more than 10 million times on social media and has been a huge success," Johnson said in a letter.

British Ambassador to South Korea Simon Smith said, "The British Embassy in Korea is very pleased to be with BLACKPINK at the COP26. We have to act for future generations, in order to save the Earth right now. "I hope all BLINK fans around the world will join us in our journey.
