BTS V, China's #1 Most Popular K-pop Idol

BTS V topped the list of the most popular K-pop idols in China.

V topped the ranking of "Currently Most Popular K-Pop Idol in China" released by YouTube channel "KPop Craze," which provides various votes and rankings related to K-pop, with 41,423 points.

In February, V topped the weekly chart of "Aiman" and "Korean Artist Fan Activity Index," a Chinese big data organization, for two consecutive weeks, showing off his hot popularity from the continent.

V boasts an unrivaled status in fan club size and power even though there is no official activity in China, which has high loyalty to existing stars. V's biggest fan club in China, "Baidu Vbar," swept the top 30 ranking's first and second place in the joint purchase of K-pop albums.

According to North American media All K-pop, V's Chinese fan club set a new record for the joint purchase of all K-pop albums by ordering a huge amount of 5.2 billion won, or one-third of the total U.S. sales, in its fourth regular album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7."

It also stood out in the digital music market. BTS's official music platform in China is called "NetEase Cloud Music." Just as BTS does not have an SNS personal account other than the official group account, there is no official personal account on the music site, and fans follow the BTS group account and form a fan club guild, meaning paid members for each member.

V's fans ranked No. 1 in the group of fan club guilds, and both album and single purchases ranked No. 1, adding to BTS's album's success.
