The movie "Catman," starring EXO Sehun, was planned to be released late in China for the first time in four years, but it was postponed indefinitely again.
According to Yonhap News Agency on the 9th, "Catman," starring EXO's Sehun, was scheduled to be screened in China on March 14, White Day, but disappeared from the scheduled release of the reservation app.
Originally, the film distributor of "Catman" released previews and posters earlier this month and promoted them extensively, but they were also listed on the list of movies scheduled to be released by major movie reservation apps, but disappeared.
"We don't know the exact reason for the postponement of the release because the distributor told Yonhap News that they decided not to show it for the time being," a film official in Beijing said. "There is still a Korean Wave restriction, and I know there was bad public opinion on the news."
Starring Sehun and Chinese actor Hsien, "Catman" is a romantic fantasy film about what happens between a man and his favorite woman, a half-human half-myo, who goes back and forth between a man and a cat under magic. Director Park Hee-gon, who directed "Fengshui," etc., took the megaphone.
"Catman" finished filming in 2016 and was scheduled to be released in 2017, but it was postponed indefinitely. Although it is a Chinese film with Chinese capital invested, its release has been delayed amid China's Korean law since the deployment of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) on the Korean Peninsula due to the fact that a Korean actor starred in it.
