BLACKPINK ROSE Wins Billboard's First Time With K-Pop Solo

BLACKPINK ROSE became the first K-pop solo artist to reach the top of the U.S. Billboard Global Chart.

On the 22nd (local time), Billboard first released two major charts that compiled data from March 12 to 18.

It is on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excel U.S. charts, where Rosé's "On The Ground" both topped the list. The sub-title song 'Gone' also ranked 29th and 17th, respectively.

Billboard Global 200 ranks the most popular songs based on streaming and music sales (download) collected from more than 200 regions around the world, including the U.S. The U.S. Billboard has been newly established as one of the global main charts because it has been created to reflect the latest trends in the popular music market.

Rose's "On The Ground" topped iTunes top song charts in 51 countries, including the United States, on the first day of its release, and also topped the global YouTube song chart (counted from March 12 to March 18).

It also ranked 8th on the Spotify Global Top 50 Chart, the world's largest music streaming platform, and settled in the top 10. He then ranked 43rd on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, confirming Rosé's global influence once again.

The music video for 'On The Ground' surpassed 100 million views on the 20th. It was the shortest time for a Korean female solo artist to achieve 100 million views, as well as an achievement in about a week after it was released on YouTube.

The album division is also drawing attention. Rose's solo album "R," which had 500,000 pre-orders, sold more than 280,000 copies in just one day as soon as it was released on the 16th, drawing keen attention to the final initial record released today (23rd).
