BLACKPINK ROSE has been officially listed in the Guinness World Records category for its first solo album title song "On the Ground."
Guinness World Records said on its website on the 9th (local time) that Rosé's "On the Ground" music video was recognized as "the most watched YouTube video of a K-pop solo artist in 24 hours."
The music video for "On the Ground" recorded 41.6 million views on YouTube on the first day of its release. Guinness explained that this is the first time in about eight years that Psy's "Gangnam Style" (36 million views), the previous record for K-pop solo artists, has been broken.
In addition, Rosé was confirmed to be the first solo and group to reach the top of the U.S. Billboard's global chart.
"On the Ground" had topped the U.S. Billboard Global, which ranks based on streaming and music sales collected from more than 200 regions around the world.
As a result, Rose has the second number one song on the Billboard Global Chart following Black Pink's first full-length album titled "Love Style Girls," which was released in October last year.
"Congratulations on Rosé's acquisition of the Guinness title," Guinness World Records said. "It's the beginning of a career as a solo artist."
The number of BLACKPINK subscribers, who have a total of 27 billion views on YouTube, has also been on a steady rise, and is now set to surpass 60 million.
This is also drawing attention as it is quickly catching up with the number of subscribers of Justin Bieber, the world's No. 1 female artist and the overall top artist on YouTube.
