BTS 800 million views,'IDOL' also made it

BTS's music video "IDOL" has surpassed 800 million views.

The number of views on YouTube for "IDOL," the title track of BTS's repackaged album LOVE YOURSELF 結 "Answer," which was released in August 2018, exceeded 800 million at 6:14 p.m. on the 2nd. Pop singer Nicki Minaj has more than 900 million views, including the number of views on the music video of the version in which she participated in the featuring.

Shortly after its release, "IDOL" proved its global popularity by ranking 11th on the U.S. Billboard's "Hot 100" and 21st on Britain's "Official Single Chart." BTS also won the Music Video of the Year award at the 2018 E! People's Choice Awards, an American music, film and TV awards ceremony held in November 2018.

The music video of "IDOL," which has a pleasant festive atmosphere, attracts attention with a colorful set of tropical savanna grasslands, Bukcheong lion play, Euro-Asian architecture and traditional Korean styles. In particular, the performance combined with Korean samulnori and mask dance combined with the graphic effects of subculture stands out.
