Group BTS's album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" topped the U.S. most sold Physical  album chart last year.

On the 8th (local time), MRC Data released its annual report based on data that analyzed music-related figures and trends such as sales, digital downloads, and audio streaming of physical albums (CDs, LPs, cassette tapes, etc.) in the U.S. from January 3rd to December 31, 2020.

According to the report, BTS's fourth full-length album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" released in February last year topped the "Top Physical Album" with a total sales of 646,000 copies. Also, 'MAP OF THE SOUL : 7' ranked second with 674,000 copies in the 'top album' list, which combines sales other than actual albums.

In response, BTS sold about 1.5 million albums in the U.S. alone last year, ranking second in terms of total album sales.

In addition, BTS's digital single "Dynamite," released in August last year, has been downloaded more than 1.3 million times, making it the number one "top digital song sales."

In an article analyzing the MRC Data report, Billboard said, "Dynamite is the only song that has surpassed 1 million downloads in 2020," adding that "Lil Nas X's Old Town Road" recorded more than 1 million downloads in the U.S. for the second consecutive year. "Dynamite" has been downloaded more than twice as many songs as the second most downloaded song in 2020.
