GOT7, can't they get over the seven-year jinx?

In 2021, the group GOT7 celebrated its 7th anniversary.

GOT7 made its debut in January 2014 and is set to end its seven-year contract period in the standard contract this month. At the end of last year ahead of the expiration of the contract, rumors of member Jin-young's transfer to BH Entertainment followed by Yugyeom's transfer to AOMG on the 6th, drawing keen attention.

According to the report, Yugyeom decided to leave his current agency JYP Entertainment ahead of the expiration of his exclusive contract. No decision has been made since JYP, but it is said that the hip-hop label AOMG has also held a meeting with officials.

JYP is cautious about rumors of continued membership transfer. As the contract period is still left and the discussion is not over, they are cautiously saying, "We are still discussing re-signing in various ways and will let you know when we finalize our position."

There's no official position yet on the members' course of action.
If some members disperse looking for individual agencies, GOT7's group activities will be virtually difficult.

The reality is that it is difficult to maintain group activities at a time when they belong to another company.
Some predict that the move is a de facto step toward dismantlement.

However, they have been active in the global market beyond Korea, winning the World Wide Fan's Choice Award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) held in December last year. At this point, which marks the 7th anniversary of its debut, the agency is deeply concerned in that it is a representative boy group of JYP.
