BTS J-Hope is the first Korean solo artist to set a milestone of more than 5 million followers on Spotify, the world's largest music platform.
According to Spotify on the 19th, J-Hope had more than 5 million followers. It ranks fifth in the overall K-pop rankings, including the group, behind BTS, Black Pink, TWICE and EXO.
J-Hope has been at the top of the list of Korean solo singers with 1,341,112 followers on April 8, 2019, surpassing 2 million on September 7, 2020, 3 million on April 23, 2020, and 4 million on August 31, 2019.
In particular, he showed off his power by topping the K-pop solo artist list for a total of eight times since December 30 last year in the ranking of followers on the 1st.
Currently, the Spotify J-Hope page lists eight solo songs that J-Hope directly participated in writing, composing, and producing. "Daydream, Airplane, Hop World, Blue Side, Baseline, Always, P.O.P" a solo mixtape (non-regular free album) released in March 2018 and "Chicken Noodle Soup/feat. Becky G" were released in September 2019.
J-Hope is also doing well in Spotify streaming. On March 15 last year, the mixtape "Hope World" surpassed 200 million streams for the first time in a Korean solo artist album. In the K-pop category chart for the 2020 global year-end settlement, he ranked sixth in the male solo artist category and sixth in the hip-hop genre (Daydream).
Despite the fact that there has been no release of new songs for the past year and four months, the rapid increase in followers and maintaining the top streaming ranks confirm J-Hope's solid position as a solo artist.
