BigHit of BTS and YG of BLACKPINK have formed a strategic collaboration relationship.

Big Hit Entertainment and YG Entertainment, which raised global K-pop boy groups BTS and girl group BlackPink, respectively, will join hands.

Big Hit Entertainment announced on the 27th that it will invest a total of 70 billion won in YG Plus, a subsidiary of YG Entertainment, along with its subsidiary BeNX.

Big Hit held a board meeting on the same day and decided to invest a total of 70 billion won in YG Plus, including 30 billion won by Big Hit and 40 billion won by Bienx.

Big Hit acquired 4,864,565 shares of YG Plus, and after acquiring the shares, Big Hit's stake in YG Plus was 7.7 percent. VieX will acquire 6,486,85 shares of YG Plus and hold 10.2 percent of its shares.

The expected acquisition date is the 4th of next month.

Big Hit, Vienx, and YG Plus announced that they agreed to lay the foundation for strategic collaboration through this investment and cooperate in various business areas developed by each company, including platforms, distribution, and content.

VieX is a subsidiary of Big Hit that operates the fan community platform Weverse and commerce platform Weverse Shop. YG Plus is in charge of music and music distribution and MD business.

With this investment, YG Plus's global membership-related business will be carried out through Weverse, and YG Plus will collaborate with Big Hit's music and music distribution and MD business.

As a result, YG artists, including BLACKPINK, are expected to enter Weverse, a platform run by Big Hit.

The signing of a strategic partnership between the two companies with global K-pop groups is also very unusual in the entertainment industry, which is expected to have a significant impact on the industry in the future.

The two sides announced that they will create synergy by utilizing various artist IP in a wide range of business sectors covering entertainment lifestyle, including platform businesses to expand fan experience.

YG Plus added meaning, "We have prepared a new turning point for the two companies, which have been aiming for the best in their respective fields."
