BTS agency Big Hit plans to change its name to HYBE

BTS agency Big Hit Entertainment (Big Hit) is planning to change its name to HYBE.

According to the entertainment industry on the 11th, Big Hit announced on the 10th that it will propose an agenda to change its name to Hive at the regular shareholders' meeting on the 30th.

Big Hit has been building a multi-label system by acquiring Pledis Entertainment, Source Music, and KOG Entertainment. In addition, it has expanded its business areas not only for entertainment but also for producing various contents using artist IP (Intellectual Property) and for K-pop platforms.

Changing its company name is also seen as rebuilding its image due to expansion of its business.

In addition, the articles of association related to business purposes will be embodied by adding 'related' phrases such as music production, celebrity management, and content production, and 'real estate rental business' will be added to its subsidiaries.

Bang Si-hyuk, chairman of Big Hit, said at a listing ceremony in October last year, "We will strongly move forward as the world's top entertainment lifestyle platform company that can affect the entire life of everyone living in the present."
