TWICE released its new song "CRY FOR ME" at 2 p.m. today (18th).
"CRY FOR ME" drew attention as it was surprisingly unveiled at the "2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards" (2020 MAMA), which was held on the 6th.
The stage video posted on Mnet's official YouTube channel "Mnet K-POP" exceeded 12.92 million views as of 7 a.m. on the 18th, drawing enthusiastic love from fans around the world.
TWICE said, "We prepared thinking that one performance was everything, but thanks to your enthusiastic support, we are very happy that the official release of the song was decided.
We are truly happy to be able to finish 2020 with our new song," they said, expressing their gratitude for the release.
"While practicing, we were really excited because we liked both the song and the choreography, and we are affectionate enough to watch the 2020 MAMA stage video over and over again.
"TWICE will show us many more things in the future, so please continue to look forward to it."
At midnight on the 18th, Nayeon and Chaeyoung's "CRY FOR ME" individual teaser was opened through their official SNS channel, sparking another fan sentiment.
Nayeon gave off a black hole-like charm with her chic eyes, and Chae-young gave off an unrivaled aura with her sophisticated pose that overwhelmed her eyes.
The new song "CRY FOR ME," which features TWICE's fascinating transformation, depicts the confusion of love and hatred.
JYP Entertainment's representative producer Park Jin-young and singer-songwriter Heize with extraordinary sensibilities wrote the lyrics, expressing the moment when the emotions of the two extremes coexist.
Ryan Tedder, who collaborated with popular musicians such as Adele and Marron 5, Melanie Joy Fontana, and famous producer Michelle Lindgrens Schulz added to the songwriting.
